Over the course of my life I’ve lived on a sailboat, a camper van, a classic California Craftsman, and a B&B while growing up on an island in the Puget Sound. I like to think that these experiences showed me that “home” can take countless forms, and led me to be so passionate about housing. I’m still fascinated by the idea of home, what it means to each of us, and the incredible value that getting to create your own sanctuary and sense of place can impart on a person’s life. The right home can increase our feeling of autonomy, empower creativity, grow community, and support our emotional wellbeing. This is what guides me in the work that I do. I want to help you feel at home in your housing.
Since 2004, home for me has mostly been in the neighborhoods of Portland’s east side. I spent the majority of my twenties working in cool restaurants, but always following the local housing market as a hobby. I couldn’t see myself in the mainstream real estate industry — with its racist and exclusionist history, salesperson ethos, and focus on housing more as a commodity than a human right. It wasn’t until 2013 that I realized that actually meant there was space (need?) in the industry for someone like me, to approach this work a different way, and I finally got my license. Since then, I’ve been fortunate to work with hundreds of buyers and sellers across Portland and beyond, getting to share my own approach, knowledge, and deep love for this city.
I know that buying or selling a home can be a wonderful experience, but it can also be incredibly stressful. I like to think of my approach as one part therapist and one part personal coach, shepherding clients through this high stakes emotional and financial roller coaster. Choosing to work with me means that you’ll always have someone in your corner, ready to listen, and provide steady counsel in challenging situations. I will help you navigate this process with experience, expertise, and empathy. And most importantly, I will be your fiercest advocate every step of the way.
I’ve built my business on referrals from past clients and word of mouth, so my clients mean everything to me. I strive to build long-term relationships where I get to be a part of your homeownership journey for years to come. That’s why it’s so important that we’re a good fit, that we value each other, and that you get what you need. I want to be your resource and advisor, to hear about your remodel plans that are years in the making, and I want to help your friends and family too.
When I’m not combing the MLS for overlooked gems, you can find me at estate sales, plant nurseries, or the Japanese Garden, in the woods, on the water, or eating all of the amazing vegan food Portland has to offer. I spend a lot of time scheming about my next fun house project. But, my very favorite thing has got to be piling into our camper van and exploring this beautiful state with my partner, Rob, and our two dogs, Aster and Cosmo.
