Growing up in the small town of Brownsville, Oregon, my family would come up to "the big city" of Portland and I loved everything about it—the excitement, art and music. After several jobs in marketing and advertising that weren’t a good fit, my realtor father said "why don't you go into real estate? I love it and think you will too!" So, for once I listened to my father and did just that. And he was right—I love it! I think having this be my (inadvertent) family business sets me apart. With a father who was a residential realtor in Oregon for nearly 40 years, and a brother who is a commercial realtor here in Portland—I’ve got a perspective on the industry that most don't have.
Having practiced real estate for over 15 years, I have the experience to help guide my clients through the many scenarios that come up during the home buying and selling process. I am also a homeowner myself, which gives me an added layer of perspective. I can better prepare my clients for what to expect since I’ve been through the process. I am my client’s most valuable source for information and I have endless patience for the myriad questions that arise.
I consider myself a “connector” and have developed relationships within the industry that play a key role in a successful transaction. Whether you need lenders, contractors, inspectors or a good therapist, I’m here to facilitate.
I’m also very passionate about equity and helping Portland's real estate industry move forward from its racist origins. I donate a percentage of each of my home sales to Taking Ownership, a local Black-led organization working to keep marginalized communities in their homes, and I am a founding member of the non-profit REPAIR (Real Estate Professionals Against Institutional Racism). Together, we are working to bring more diverse representation into the industry, provide bias training for white people in the industry, and raise money for Black-led organizations who are helping build generational wealth through homeownership. Ask me about it—I’d love to share more details with you.
